Are you a beginner or unsure about what you need to start welding with the Dillon? It is easier than you think. Dillon's unique mixing chamber and low-pressure technology (0.5 bar) make gas welding both safer and more economical. To get started, you basically need three things: the Dillon torch, a hose set with approved safety valves, and gas cylinders for oxygen and acetylene.

Here you can see exactly what is included in a complete system – regardless of whether you choose modern cylinders with built-in regulators or classic, external regulators.

Alternative 1: Cylinders with built-in regulators

The most convenient and fastest way.

If you buy or rent cylinders with built-in regulators (for example, Air Liquide's ALbee), you do not need separate pressure gauges or regulators. You simply screw the fittings and flashback arrestors directly onto the cylinder's built-in valve.

This is what you need (Alternative 1):

Dillon torch & tips:Standard Kit or the more complete Pro Kit (more tips and cutting attachments).
Hose (oxygen/acetylen): Approved welding hose in the desired length.
Flashback arrestors: Mandatory for safety. Mounted at the gas source (on the regulator). You need one for acetylene and one for oxygen.
Hose fittings 3/8": Screwed onto the flashback arrestors at the gas source.
Gas cylinders (oxygen + acetylene): Bought or rented from your local gas depot, with built-in flow control.
Welding goggles: Correct shade intended for gas welding.
Filler metals: We recommend our Wire & Flux Pack (seven wire types plus flux for cast iron, aluminium, and stainless steel).

Alternative 2: Classic regulators

Already have standard cylinders in the shop, or planning classic bottles? Then you build a traditional system where you screw external regulators directly onto the cylinder valves.

This is what you need (Alternative 2):

Dillon torch & tips: Standard Kit or Pro Kit.
External regulators: One for acetylene and one for oxygen. Since the Dillon operates at a very low pressure (0.5 bar), choose regulators that can be adjusted precisely at low pressures.
Hose (oxygen/acetylene): Approved welding hose in the desired length.
Flashback arrestors: Mandatory for safety. Mounted on the regulator outlet at the gas source (one for acetylene and one for oxygen).
Hose fittings 3/8": For the flashback arrestors.
Welding goggles: Correct shade for gas welding.
Filler metals: Wire & Flux Pack for cast iron, aluminium, and stainless steel.

Important note about regulators: We do not currently sell separate regulators (pressure gauges) in the webshop. These are easily bought or rented from your local gas depot or welding specialist store when you acquire your gas cylinders.
